Western Instruments Instruments we Teach

Flute

The flute is one of the great instruments of the orchestral woodwind (despite often being crafted from metal!) section and is also an extremely popular solo instrument.

Guitar

The guitar is a plucked string instrument, using either the fingers or a plectrum. The guitar is usually played as a solo instrument.

Violin

The Violin is considered one of the most important instruments in the Western orchestras. It is probably the most well known bowed string Western instrument

Piano

The Piano originated in the 18th century from the Harpsichord and similar instruments. Key presses cause hammers to strike horizontal strings to create its sound.

Oboe

The oboe is part of the woodwind section of an orchestra. It's sound comes from blowing onto two reeds that vibrate against eachother.
