Gurukul
has a well developed programme of one off and progressive workshops
suitable for schools and community groups, which is largely run by
senior
students. It has been created after full consultation with LEA
Music Heads, school music heads and the regional arts board. These
have been
developed
so that they are in keeping with and contributory to the different
Key Stage and GCSE requirements. Sometimes special projects are run
to fund
the teaching of schoolchildren in Indian Music out of school hours.
These children participate in a series of workshops and then take part
in the
annual Gurukul Festival. INSET (In service programmes for teachers)
is also provided through a series of interactive workshops.
